This Reputation Isn’t for Sale: A Powerful Poetic Declaration of Integrity

By Moses Kay Fembeh

I built it with wounds they never saw,

Brick by brick, through silence and scars.

Not from applause or borrowed names,

But from nights I stood when no one came.

They offered silver wrapped in smiles,

But I refused their gilded miles.

For this name, however plain,

Was forged in fire not bought with gain.

You see a man;

I see the battles beneath this stand.

I wear my truth like rugged cloth

Unpolished, yes, but earned, not lost.

Let them trade honor for fleeting gold;

Mine is a legacy not bought or sold.

This reputation is not for lease

It bears the weight of my quiet peace.

I sleep in rooms I did not steal,

I speak with lips that never kneel.

And if history knocks, I’ll say:

This reputation walked the harder way.
